Planting Tips:

When planting Thuja Green Giant,  select a well-drained location with full to partial sunlight. Ensure adequate spacing to accommodate its mature size, and plant in a hole that is as deep as the root ball but two to three times wider.

Watering:

Established Thuja Green Giant trees are generally drought-tolerant, but consistent watering during dry periods is crucial, especially during the first few years after planting. Deep, infrequent watering is preferable to encourage deep root growth.

Mulching:

Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the tree to retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. This is particularly beneficial during the tree's establishment phase.

Pruning:

Minimal pruning is required for Green Giant Arborvitae. However, you may choose to shape the tree or remove any dead or damaged branches as needed. Pruning is best done in late winter or early spring.

Fertilizing:

While Thuja Green Giant is adaptable to various soil conditions, applying  SR-18-5-10 slow release fertilizer in spring can promote healthy growth. Be cautious not to over-fertilize, as excessive nitrogen can lead to undesirable rapid growth.
