Primavera, Spanish Lavender is an upright perennial with loads of sweet-smelling, dark purple blooms. It stands 16 – 18 inches tall and 14 – 16 inches wide, it and has narrow, green leaves that have a silvery blue sheen. The flower heads are tall and look like macramé friendship bracelet braids. These flower heads are topped with small, open petals that resemble soft strips of rich purple fabric. They bloom all throughout the spring and summer. In warmer climates, the plant is evergreen and will bloom well into winter. Trimming the plant to half its size after each burst of blooms will ensure that it fills with blooms again. The cut flowers are wonderful in fresh or dried arrangements or in various crafts.
