Care:

This variety of Midnight Masquerade thrives in well-drained, medium-moist soil and full sun. Encourage its growth by applying a slow-release fertilizer. While it is drought resistant, consistent watering is necessary until it becomes established.

While Midnight Masquerade is resilient to cold weather, it is advised to add a 3-4 inch layer of mulch around the plant to protect the roots during winter. Maintaining proper air circulation is important to avoid disease. Be vigilant for slugs and aphids and make sure the soil has good drainage to prevent root rot and powdery leaf mildew.

Fall is the perfect time for pruning. You can leave the seed heads during winter to attract birds, or you can remove them to maintain a clean garden.
