Notice
Many of our plants ship in a naturally dormant state during the winter months. This means some will arrive without leaves or visible growth above the soil line. Dormancy is a normal and healthy part of a plant’s life cycle during colder seasons—it helps protect the root system and prepares the plant for vigorous growth in spring. Rest assured, don’t worry if your plants look bare upon arrival—this is normal for the season, and fresh growth will emerge in spring.

Cherry-Go-Round™ Hydrangea is a compact, cherry-red mophead hydrangea that blooms from late spring well into fall on a tidy 2–3 ft shrub. It reblooms on both old and new wood, so you enjoy round after round of vivid color instead of a single flush.

The sturdy, upright stems keep the big blooms from flopping, and its cold and heat tolerance make it a dependable choice in a wide range of climates. Use it where you need maximum impact in a small space: front borders, along walkways, tight foundation beds, or in patio containers.

Why it stands out

Unlike many red hydrangeas that fade to dull pink, Cherry-Go-Round™ holds a rich cherry-red tone through the season for a bold, modern look. Its naturally compact habit means less pruning, less guessing, and no oversized shrub swallowing your entry path or porch.

Because it forms buds on both last year’s wood and new growth, it bounces back with new flowers even after cold snaps or an imperfect pruning job. That makes it a great fit for newer gardeners who want success without babysitting.

Simple care

Plant in rich, well-drained soil and water regularly, especially through the first season and during hot, dry spells. A layer of mulch helps keep roots cool and conserve moisture.

Fertilize lightly in spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. We offer 18-5-10 slow release fertilizer on our store. Only prune to remove spent blooms and dead or damaged stems; avoid hard cutting in late fall or early spring so you do not remove flower buds.
