Bonsai Kit

From its origins in 720 A.D. in China, this art form has since spread to Japan and the Western world. For 5,000 years, Chinese gardeners have been using handmade earthenware bowls or basins to cultivate and display these exquisite miniature landscapes. Bonsai is not just a hobby, but a spiritual experience for the creator, who has the opportunity to shape and mold the tree into their own personal inspiration. As the saying goes, "As a limb is bent, so shall it go." By training both yourself and the plant, you can create something truly unique and special.

We have selected several cultivars that will be ideal for a Bonsai project. The kit will offer a healthy plant, small bonsai pot, and enough special potting soil to complete your Bonsai project.

It's not hard to start,

Pick your plant.
Simply unbox the contents of the box.
Take the potting soil and moisten it until it holds together in your hand.
Fill bonsai pot to about 1/2 or less.
Take you plant of choice and remove it form the container.
Take a sharp knife and carefully cut the root-ball in half.
Test the root-ball in your bonsai pot.
Remove enough soil from the plant to have it will be just under the top of the bonsai pot.
When properly fitted, add soil to the open areas and slightly pack the soil until the plant stands on its own.
Lightly water the soil to settle.
Your now a bonsai gardener.
Water as needed and put your creation in the proper lighting.
As your plant grows, you start the training process of what you envision the plant will be.
Finally, show it off to all your family and friends!

Ordering:

Orders taken after 4:00 pm on Wednesday through Sunday will be shipped the following Monday – Wednesday. We do not want your order to sit in a warehouse or on a truck over the weekend.

However, depending on the season you purchase, you can receive a plant that is smaller or larger than what is presented. There's a chance you might see a plant blooming like the one on our site, but it's not guaranteed. We often trim off blooms since they don't travel well. When you buy our plants, think of it as a wonderful investment in your future garden! Enjoy the journey of nurturing them to their fullest potential.
