Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parviflora) is a beautiful, drought-resistant plant that flourishes in hardiness zones 5-10, offering a flexible option for gardens in both warmer and cooler climates. The slender, curving leaves display a gentle green to blue-green hue, forming a lovely, easy-care foliage setting. As late spring gives way to early summer, the plant showcases its tall, upright spikes adorned with vibrant coral-red tubular flowers. These blossoms beckon hummingbirds and various pollinators, making it a splendid selection for gardens that welcome wildlife. This lovely shrub usually reaches a height of 2-3 feet and spreads around 3-4 feet wide, perfect for borders, xeriscaping, or as a charming accent plant.

The Red Yucca stands strong against deer, maintaining its beauty even in places where these creatures might wander in search of a snack. Moreover, it is regarded as not safe for pets. 

For optimal growth, Red Yucca flourishes in well-drained soil and basking in full sunlight. Once it takes root, it can withstand dry spells quite well, but giving it regular water during its initial growing season will help it settle in faster. Water only when the soil feels dry to your fingers, for too much water can cause the roots to rot. Applying mulch around the base of the plant is a wise practice that aids in conserving moisture and keeping the root temperature steady.
