Are you looking for a plant for coverage but don’t want a shrub? Confederate Star Jasmine is a great option for that need. It's not a shrub but a fast growing, easy to care for evergreen vine. This plant offers so many great attributes to the garden. First, it is very easy to care for. With a little training on a trellis for shade or fence for cover, it will take off and start filing out in no time.

Second, the Confederate Star Jasmine has a beautiful dark, glossy green foliage of medium size leaves that gives great concealment. Last, and our favorite, is the fragrance it produces with little pin-wheel creamy-white flowers that completely cover the vine when blooming. The aroma is overwhelmingly intoxicating! Confederate Star jasmine generally blooms in the evening, so after a long day, it welcomes you to your happy place to unwind and recharge. Depending on your location, we have seen the blooms last more than a few weeks, giving a daily dose of goodness. In the cooler months, Confederate Star Jasmines foliage will turn reddish in color, offering some neat contrast in the fall.

Confederate Star Jasmine is a good choice for the garden. It's heat tolerant and will do well in most soils. Occasionally twine and lightly trim to keep this vine full. Our #1 vine on our plants-to-have list. Hardy to zones 8-11.

We recommend multiple plants when ordering. Your goal is to have a full hedge with no gaps. The perfect planting scape for Star Jasmine would be every 2-2 ½ feet apart for fences or ground planting. For trellises, we recommend one or two plants per post.
